Although there is not going to be BBQ cook-off this year, we hope to raise funds in a different way. We are launching the 2020 Juneteenth Charitable Fundraising Campaign. We ask for your participation by donating funds to JFI, which will go towards the support of those in need throughout the Hays County community. You can help by participating in the following ways:
Sponsors: making your usual donation will be helpful.
BBQ Teams: you can donate the fees you usually spend to participate in the cook-off every year; or perhaps have a mini BBQ cook-off to raise funds; or another idea – sell BBQ plates and donate all or a portion of the money to JFI.
Juneteenth Volunteers: find a way to donate your time, talent, and treasures to assist anyway you can; maybe have an art contest; or make a YouTube video about Juneteenth – we encourage creativity.
Special Note to our BBQ Teams: JFI would love for you share your ideas should we consider having a cook-off later in the year, which is dependent on COVID related restrictions being lifted and whether we feel it would be safe to convene with our festivities. Please provide your feedback to us by email at <firstname.lastname@example.org>. Do not be shy with your suggestions either, we want to hear them all – tell us what you want, the sky is the limit! We look forward to hearing your input on making a future event one that everyone will enjoy!
Anything to keep our fires burning for Juneteenth, showing our community that a pandemic cannot dampen our spirit – every bit helps! Additionally, please take pictures of anything you do to participate in this fundraiser and send them by email to <email@example.com>. We will post your pictures on the Juneteenth webpage. Who knows, maybe we will have a prize for the most creative!
You can also send your donation and suggestions by mail to the following address: Juneteenth Foundation, Inc. P. O. Box 447 San Marcos, Texas 78667 We thank you in advance for your contribution and support of JFI. Also, remember that your donation to JFI is tax-exempt because we are a non-profit organization.
